Remembering those who serve on Memorial Day

Remembering those who serve on Memorial Day

I have had family members that have served the military throughout different generations in my family. I have friends who have spent their entire careers in the military. I have lost friends in Iraq and to suicide.

Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor the brave men and women who have served our country in the armed forces. It is a day to reflect on the sacrifices that they and their families have made to protect our freedom and our way of life.

It is important to take a moment to remember that Memorial Day is not just a day off from work or a time for barbecues and picnics. It is a day to pause and reflect on the sacrifices that have been made by those who have served.

Let us honor their memory by continuing to work towards a brighter future, one where peace and freedom are the foundation of our society.

Thank you to all those who have served, and to those who continue to serve. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

If you know someone who at  the risk of suicide they can call "988" for immediate help. You can also visit: https://www.cdc.gov/suicide/resources/index.html
